.Unhealthy Eating - Your Power vs. Your Poison? Do you know

Tired? sleepy? hungry? spacey?

Your next meal could be making you feel terrible.

Now, carefully think about when those problems may have ocurred. This may be an exercise for the future, but pay close attention if those problems occurred within 2 hours of eating. It is possible for foods to adversely affect you up to days later, but they are much more difficult to detect and sometimes needs a specialty test (sage test).

So for todays project let’s just focus on the obvious stuff. For example: If you eat lunch and within 2 hours you are tired, ding, ding, ding, back up and write down what you had for lunch. The next time you have a problem write it down.

Simple eating solution:

  • What is the problem?
  • What did you eat in the last 2 hours?

After you have a few entries look at the problem list and you will hopefully discover some trends. Then test them.

For example: I was pretty sure chicken made me tired. So I specifically paid attention to how I felt after a chicken meal versus a beef meal. Chicken is tolerable, but tiring for me, but beef makes me feel like a rock star. I also don’t do well with all veggies, I need meat.

Some people don’t need meat at all to feel great, some will do better with fish, and so on. Keep an open mind and try all kinds of possibilities.

This one idea alone can dramatically affect your health and life, yet it is so simple. Each person is different. You need to test it for yourself if you aren’t feeling fabulous.

These would be food “intolerances” not specific allergies. And I’d bet almost everyone has them. Everytime we did full-blown testing there was always some problem foods. The problem for most people is that testing with a good blood test costs a minimum of $500.

A few things to consider and why you’d want to do this.

  1. The human specicies hasn’t evolved to deal with what we would consider “normal” foods. Many didn’t exist thousands of years ago.
  2. Intolerances can be made worse with modern foods. The average grocery store foods are lower in nutrients the liver needs to detoxify the stuff your body can’t handle. This is one reason I recommend organic foods and Cruciferous Complete from Standard Process. If your liver doesn’t have the fuel, then your immune system has to pick up the slack. Can you say “modern inflammatory” diseases.
  3. Poor digestion just complicates matters. Burping, gas, reflux all can be helped, just ask.

Just the idea of paying attention to how you feel can revolutionize how you approach health when you can directly link problems to your lunch.

If you have so many problems it is seeming impossible to figure it out, just do it in reverse. Start with watermelon and zuccini and add a new food each meal. But, only add one food. Those two foods are generally considered the least problematic.

Also don’t miscount spices and condiments. Three out of five people are actually allergic to black pepper.

Also, don’t take this too seriously. Eat good food and do your best to identify stuff that affects you the most.

Enjoy supper tonight,
Dr. Altman

I’m not talking about the Charlie Daniels Band playing with the “fiddle of gold, against your soul.”

Let’s say Mr. Faust comes into the office with asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, colitis, and skin rashes and maybe a little lupus for good measure. These problems have one thing in common. I’ll tell you later, hang-on.

Now Mr. Faust was given the usual meds. The steroid inhalers made his asthma go away, his body pains disappeared with the Prednisone, along with the bloody diarrhea and his long-standing skin rash.

Mr. Faust was not too keen about the notorious side- effects showing up. His face was swelling, his mood was unstable, he got stomach ulcers, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

Now his original problems were coming back, too— “up the dose of Prednisone and the other steroids.”

He is now addicted to the medication, why?

Mr. Faust has weak adrenal glands.

The Prednisone takes the place of the adrenal glands. Instead of stealing from Peter to pay Paul, Prednisone turns Peter into a loan shark. You need him now, and more and more in the future. I don’t need to tell you what happens when you stiff the loan shark.

If some form of cortisone works –then the adrenals are weak. Tada problems solved, right!

How Do The Adrenal Glands Poop Out?

Are you tired? Stressed? Work a lot? Sleep little? Do you go,go,go and go some more?

You are frying your adrenals, I know, I’ve done it.

You might remember those early frying pan commercials where they drop some eggs in and the announcer comes on and says “this is your brain on drugs”. Those are your adrenal glands now. Then drugs like Prednisone take your adrenals and put them in the microwave to make sure all the life is cooked out of them.

I can’t help you with the medications but I can start you on the road to healing your adrenals. The bottom line is that if Prednisone makes your symptoms go away or get better, you can bet that you have an adrenal problem. Now if the medics deny this fact of physiology, that doesn’t mean it’s not true.

So What Do Your Tired, Sore, and Stepped On Adrenal Glands Need To Start Making Hormones Again?

  1. Fat-Yes the sick, twisted, and wrong thinking low-fat diets are killing your ability to make hormones.

  2. ALL, yes ALL, yes, one more time ALL adrenal hormones come from CHOLESTEROL. All those wonderful adrenal hormones that help us deal with stress, inflammation, and even injuries come from cholesterol. You need cholesterol

  3. The adrenals can’t use the cholesterol without Vitamin A. So take your cod liver oil.

  4. Since the adrenals are also involved in sugar regulation, don’t eat simple sugars. Try keeping your carbohydrate load below 75 grams a day.

  5. And lastly I have to step on one more medical myth. Your adrenals NEED natural salt. Not Morton’s, but Celtic Sea Salt. I’ve seen this impressive fact directly. When we do the purification program and someone has weak adrenals, it shows up about in the second week, because there is no salt in the program. They have near immediate improvement in fatigue when they take Celtic Sea Salt. And no, it doesn’t raise blood pressure.
