health insurance, doctor bills, healthHow would you like to improve your odds with cancer, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes all at the same time and save money?

Sounds pretty great right.  Almost unbelievable!  Thankfully it is true and as you will see very possible and somewhat free.  I’d like to say that you’ll even live longer but I can’t predict the future.   This simple solution could save over a million lives a year so please pass this along.  The #1 thing you can do is not eat sugar.  I know that sounds impossible, but even if you scale back, you’ll make a major difference.  Let me show you a few eye opening things about sugar and disease.

From the CDC:

Number of deaths for leading causes of death

  • Heart disease: 631,636
  • Cancer: 559,888
  • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 137,119
  • Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 124,583
  • Accidents (unintentional injuries): 121,599
  • Diabetes: 72,449
  • Alzheimer’s disease: 72,432

Not all of these are related to sugar, but I put them up there for a comparison.  Clearly heart disease and cancer are the biggest whales.

Now don’t call PETA because we are going to slay some whales.   Let’s start with the smallest problem.

#1 Diabetes: How is diabetes caused?

This really is about Type II only.  The driving force behind diabetes is the over consumption of sugar and simple carbohydrates.   It is really that simple.  The ridiculous recommendations for people to eat 6-11 servings of carbohydrates such as bread and cereal have given this country an epidemic of diabetics.   Don’t believe me, I can guarantee you that if you have a testing kit and are diabetic you’ll be amazed, test it yourself.
Give up the idea that cereal is good for you and open your mind to the world of real food and try this.

Actual patient example for breakfast:
Day 1: Cereal, toast, orange juice
Her blood sugar was 200 two hours later.

Day 2: After one of my lectures
Chicken, celery, cottage cheese.
Her blood sugar was 110 two hours later.

A simple diet change freed her from diabetes.  I wish the medical community would have the courage to tell people the truth.

#2 Cancer:  How does cancer start?

Good question and we have many answers for that.  It is often said that we get cancer everyday but our immune systems wipe out the problems before they really get rolling.  But if cancer does start, sugar   is probably the number one thing that will keep it going.

Johns Hopkins Press Release February 16, 1998

Johns Hopkins researchers have found evidence that some cancer cells are
such incredible sugar junkies that they’ll self­-destruct when deprived of
glucose, their biological sweet of choice.

“The change when we took away glucose was dramatic,” says Chi Van Dang, M.D.,
Ph.D., director of hematology. “By the next day, we knew very quickly that the cells we
had altered to resemble cancers were dying off in large numbers.”
Scientists have long suspected that the cancer cell’s heavy reliance on glucose, its main
source of strength and vitality, also could be one of its great weaknesses, and Dang’s new
results are among the most direct proofs yet of the idea.

One of our patient’s was going through a course of chemo and during one of the tests the “snack” that was given was a processed package of cookies.  When it comes to cancer and nutrition you have to fend for yourself.

Your brain still needs sugar to run well so a good plan if you don’t have cancer is to start decreasing what you eat.

  • Have a much smaller piece of dessert
  • Stop adding sugar to your coffee
  • Stop eating toast or cereal for breakfast
  • Choose water instead of soda
  • Make fruit your sweetener
  • Etc.

The one thing I have really noticed over the years is that the more I try and avoid sugar the more I dislike it.  I can’t eat very sweet things anymore.

#3 Heart Disease: How to prevent heart disease

It may not be what you think.

This is a very broad and mysterious problem.  There are many causes and contributing factors and cholesterol is the least of your concerns.  You can’t take a statin drug and sleep well at night thinking you are protected from a heart attack.  If that were true, the incidence of heart attacks would be going down year after year because more and more people are taking these drugs.  Drugs aren’t the answer.  Since many things contribute to heart disease, ponder how sugar may make it worse.

  • Sugar increases insulin production in the body.  Insulin tells the body to store the sugar/carbs as fat AND hang on to it and not let it go.  This is one of the primary reasons 2/3 of America is obese.   Also, exercising to burn fat becomes pointless when the insulin won’t the body burn it as fuel.  This sobering fact alone contributes to heart disease through shear volume.   It takes at least 100 miles of blood vessels to support a pound of fat.  I’ve seen estimates up to 200 miles.  So for example, if you are 20 lbs. overweight you heart has to pump more blood volume through an extra 2000 miles of blood vessels.   That’s just more stress on it.
  • Brace yourself.  This will probably be a new concept for you.  Don’t let that fool you.  Going back to the very beginning of the Cholesterol Theory there have been so many holes in the theory doctors have doubted it for over 50 years.  The only reason anyone believed it was because of advertising.   I’ll cover more of that later in another longer and larger article.  Those of you who read my book will realize that heart attacks occur from a lack of oxygen to the heart muscle, NOT from a blockage.  Just go with me here.  As we talked about in the book, a blockage is an after effect from a heart attack not the cause, so the BIG question is how does the heart suffer from lack of oxygen?

Since we are talking about sugar here I’ll give you sugar scenario.  Basically, sugar and oxygen combine to give you energy.  Your heart is an energy hog because it never rests.  If you consume enough sugar you will actually drop the overall blood sugar due to the action of insulin.  If you drop the blood sugar too fast often by combining a high sugar meal and exercise indirectly you can starve the heart of oxygen.  Without the blood sugar the oxygen can’t be used by the heart.  I am greatly simplifying it here, but just let that roll around awhile and it’ll make sense.

If everyone took this simple advice in this email, we could probably save over a million lives a year by decreasing heart attacks, improving cancer survivability, and eliminating type II diabetes and obesity.  Who knew national health care reform could be so simple.  Eat protein at every meal, take some good fats, eat your veggies and skip the packaged foods and viola` we have a new nation again.  It has to start with you.  At the bottom of the article you can make a large impact in the world by emailing it, Digging it, and using StumbleUpon.

Now if you cut back on your sugar and package food consumption, just think of all the money you’ll save on not buying bad food and getting better / cheaper health insurance.  Heck, if you lose weight you can shop in the clearance section for all the skinny clothes no one buys anymore.  Being healthy is a necessity and the ways you can save money are many.  Plus, you have more energy and look better.  Just even try and imagine how much money the government could save if we eliminated heart disease, cancer and diabetes.  The government won’t mandate that you eat less sugar, that is something you must do personally.

What I learned from Bruce West’s latest newsletter.

This is a very personal letter talking about the death of his dad.  All kinds of things contribute to pain, suffering, and an early death—smoking, drinking, drugs, doctors, poor diet and more.  He says the most insidious of all is loss of strength, mind and body.  A loss of strength brings about years in nursing homes and an early death.  Dr. West uses Fred Hahn’s “The Slow Burn Fitness Revolution” to maintain his strength.  If you have a hard time remembering to workout or being motivated you may like our online program www.area365.com

Epidemic of Vitamin D deficiency

Since sunshine is the primary source of vitamin D it is quickly becoming the secondary source for three reasons.

#2 People are covering up more in summer
#3 Cholesterol-lowering drugs (Sunshine uses cholesterol to convert to vitamin D)

One of the most exciting research studies shows that vitamin D can attach to cancer cell receptor sites and thwart their ability to grow.  Whether cancer is ever wiped out is completely dependent on your immune system.

Cod Liver Oil is needed by just about everyone.  Not only for the vitamins A and D but the omega  3 fatty acids.  It is for strong bones, joints, and muscles.

B4 for you and me
It seems in general discussion that no one has every heard of B4 besides Standard Process.  The only doctor that talks about it is Bruce West.  It is one of the most critical heart supplements we have.  For your reference, the Merck Manual 10th edition, every medical professional has used this book.  The Merck lists 14 separate fractions of B complexes and 12 divisions of B12.  The manual states adenine is “widespread throughout animal and plant tissues…it is often isolated from bovine pancreas, and itis also referredto as vitamin B4.”

Flu Shots Do Not Prevent Pneumonia

The facts show that flu shots don’t lower the risk for pneumonia, “whether you get the shot before, during, or after the flu season.

The 2007-2008 season was a complete failure for the flu vaccine.

The Lancet Aug 2, 2008 studied the real numbers of flu cases with an adjusted analysis. This analysis factors in other chronic diseases and impairments. The result: The same number of people got the flu that got the shot and those who didn’t.

If you would like to look at prevention. Immuplex from Standard Process and Cod liver oil are on the front lines. If you happen to fall ill, we add 2 Congaplex every hour. There is a chewable congaplex for kids also.

Estrogen and Breast Cancer

We learned the hard way that estrogen causes cancer-especially breast cancer. That little discovery was made when women STOPPED taking the hormone pills meant to “help” them from their medical doctors.

Also reoccurance of cancer rates also go up with high levels of estrogen. That is also despite treatment with Tamoxifen.
In this study, which was not a Big Pharma study, they recommended that women who have been treated for breast cancer they “should reduce blood estrogen by exercising and keeping weight down.”

These are good but not enough. (Dr. Altman-John Lee M.D. first talked about this method of estrogen elimination through diet) Diet… Diet… Diet the primary loss of estrogen is through the liver’s detox mechanisms. The main fuel for this type of detox is kale, broccoli, brussels sprouts and other veggies. These are not main staple veggies in most households. If that is your case, Standard Process makes Cruciferous Complete, which is the whole vegetable processed without heat, chemicals, or freezing to maintain the natural life force of the plant. Don’t be fooled by other whole food supplements.

Comprehensive Spine Care

This came from an ad for a spine center of “experts” who truly understand spine and spine care. The commercial went on to talk about how comprehensive their treatment was.

(Dr. Altman- BULL, after thousands of back pain patients, I can tell you that you will never get a comprehensive look at back pain until you see a chiropractor. Medical “experts” don’t look at misalignments as a problem or do they know how to see them on x-rays or feel them on a patient. I was at a seminar last week with a fabulous neurosurgeon speaking about the latest and greatest in surgery and all the “medical” stuff they do. He made a draumatic mistake. He admitted that he had on / off again back pain. One of the other seminar attendee’s said “why don’t you go tho your wife’s chiropractor?” His answer was he doesn’t have time because he has kids. He had never been to a chiropractor and he was considered “friendly” to chiros. There is definitely no one right solution for all types of back pain, but unless you go and see a chiropractor “more than once” you haven’t got a comprehensive picture of your back pain.)

Back to Bruce West…”More than half of all spine problems result from a vertebra or a rib being knocked out of place, which requires an adjustment to put it back.”

Pure lunacy has started. It is hard to bite my tongue on this one. This alone qualifies Drug companies as evil and sinister, preying on children. Instead of pumping kids full of useless drugs it would be nice if they supported parents in education and feeding kids real food. The typical American-kid diet is filled with artery-clogging processed food, including bad fats. Kids need healthy fats for brain and hormone development. In case you don’t have time to read all 8 pages here is my summary of what I’d like you to learn.

Chronic Stress can break anyone down.  It eats away at your nervous system, your adrenal glands and your pancreas.  you will never solve the problem until the stressor is addressed, job, marriage,family, social problems, or health.  This constant seesaw between the adrenals and the pancreas wreaks havoc on your blood sugar.   Try Min-Tran, Cataplex G, and high-vitamin cod liver oil.

Just don’t do nothing.  Have someone else help with your nutrition.  Force yourself to exercise.  Learn to deep breathe or practice meditation.

There are more people that have heart attacks with cholesterol below 200 than over 300.  There is not one study that shows a benefit of statin drugs for women whether they have heart disease or not.

Most patients who have heart attacks don’t smoke, drink, have high blood pressure or diabetes.  Bypasses and angiograms are bandaid treatments at best.  Cholesterol has little to nothing to do with heart disease.  Inflammation is where research is looking for a cause.  Some of the greatest protection is offered by HDL’s and vitamin K2.  K2 is primarily found in animal foods, raw butter, High vitamin butter oil, high vitamin cod liver oil and Cataplex F by Standard Process.

Sciatica: Surgery or NOT.  Conservative treatment, including chiropractic and deep tissue therapy, is the best course of action.  If you throw in some nutrition for bones and joints you will do even better.

Most women know that high levels of estrogen are related to higher risks of uterine and breast cancers.  That’s why for the first time in history the rates of breast cancer fell when medical doctors stopped prescribing estrogen.

What if you make too much or get it from the environment?

Your liver has to detoxify it.  That takes  very special foods.  mainly Brussels sprouts and Kale.  Cruciferous Complete was independently tested by  a lab and was shown to increase rates of estrogen excretion.  If the estrogen levels were very high the rate of excretion was 5x greater than normal.

Anti-aging is a big medical business.

There is a fundamental fact to understand, older people are sick because they are sick, not because they are old!

The truth is that good nutrition, a diet of whole foods, pure water,  and some exercise can provide real anti-aging treatments.

Chronic Gas:

This is mainly a digestive problem, so before you subject yourself to a battery of medical tests, try some digestive enzymes.  Try 2-4 Zypan first.  If you happen to get intense burning, you most likely have an ulcer.  Stop Zypan and you have now figured out a like cause of your problems.  If Zypan doesn’t solve it move on to the Gall bladder.

If your gall bladder is slow and sluggish your can’t digest fat well and it rots in your guts.  Take 2-4 A-F Betafood for a few weeks.  If symptoms improve continue for 6 months.

If those don’t work then look at dairy and gluten.  Just eliminate those from your diet and see what happens.
