#1 Malnutrition

You need strong acids to digest proteins and minerals.  This might be of special interest to you if you are trying to lose weight.  Protein is part of ANY healthy diet.  And for those of you trying to lose weight with protein, just think how much harder it is if you can’t digest protein very well.  Your diet will go better if you fix your stomach.

Now my favorite, the minerals.  You have heard of taking calcium for your bones, right?  Minerals such as calcium, and zinc especially need a strong acid to make them useable.  I once spent a whole day testing people for zinc at a health fair…

            ONLY ONE PERSON PASSED!

You may also want to know…  You need a strong acid to make calcium absorbable, and what do tons of medical doctors tell their patients?  “Take TUMS with calcium.”

If you have read this far, you already know how dumb, silly and counterproductive that would be.  Save your bones and fix your stomach, don’t just turn it off.

#2 Toxicity

How good do you think your insides will feel with ROTTEN food passing through them.  Maybe if you think about a dead badger ROTTING in you guts the next time you have gas, bloating, diarrhea, or constipation, it will make more sense.

#3 Unfriendly Critters (Parasites)

Your stomach acid does amazing things, but one of the most important is to sterilize your food.  A strong stomach acid is needed as your first line of defense against foreign invaders.  If these nasty little critters get past your stomach its like having circus performing fraternity brothers living in an apartment above you.  Your intestines never get any rest.

#4 Chronic Low Stomach Acid

Let’s face it, if you always take these drugs, you will never make enough stomach acid.  The things above will always be a problem.

If you are having any of the problems in the last email, pick up some Zypan and save your digestion.   This is why Zypan is a fundamental product from Standard Process.

.docaltman, Standard Process

I’m always shocked walking through store aisles at how many people buy acid blockers or take lots of purple pills.  The shelves are always 1/2 empty.  There must be a lot of bad stomachs out there.

—————————————————————–
People who are on medication to lower their stomach acidity will tend to
develop overgrowths of bacteria that thrive in a less- acidic environment,

making them more susceptible to cancer. (Gastroenterology, January

2002 and the American Journal of Physiology, January 2002)
——————————————————————————————-

Acid-suppressing drugs may raise pneumonia risk, 89% with drugs like
Nexium and Prevacid and 63% higher risk with Pepcid and Zantac.
(Journal of the American Medical Association, October 2004)

——————————————————————————————-

Ok, so you are aware that none of the drugs will solve your problem.  This of course provides the perfect scenario for the drug companies and the drug dispensers (pushers). Since the cause is not fixed – the symptoms are always recurring and you will always need their drugs.

……If You Have
ANY Of The Symptoms Below, You May Have TOO LITTLE OF STOMACH ACID.  You read that right. MOST of the time, people have too little acid.  You may think this is crazy right about now, but go through the problems below, and I’ll explain more after them.  You’ll want to hang in there, because almost every single person we’ve ever seen with reflux, we have helped.

FACT:  At LEAST 90% of those suffering from “reflux, acid- indigestion, or GERD” are actually suffering from too LITTLE STOMACH ACID.

I realize that T.V. commercials and your doctor have told you time and again that you have too much stomach acid. You probably say ” I know doc, it just burns like acid in my throat.”  It feels like acid.  Technically, you are right and wrong at the same time.

Here is how your stomach works.   When you eat food your stomach starts making acid right away to digest the food.  It has all your life.  You were born to make acid, it is part of NORMAL digestion.  If your acid levels are too low, that food will just sit in your stomach and ROT.

Just like a squished squirrel on the side of the road in the hot sun!

The rotting food will make its own acids and give you the feeling of acid indigestion.

YOUR BODY IS NATURALLY INTELLIGENT

It wants to get rid of bad things, so it starts coming back up.

So what happens when you take an antacid? (any one of them).  You trick your body in  away, like putting a piece of duct tape over your oil light in your car, so you don’t know your car is having trouble.  Your symptoms will stop but your problem will get worse.  I will go over how problems get worse a little later.

All those antacids make less and less stomach acid so it is easier and easier for undigested food to be forced through your body.

NO   Acid,   No   Digestion!

You are trying to run your body on less and less.  You eat food for energy to run your body.  If you can’t digest it, guess what you don’t get?   THAT’S RIGHT-MOST of your food.  Why do you think SOOOO many people who take acid-stopping drugs are so tired?

I’m going to let you in on a little secret.  You will NOT hear this from any other DOCTOR, because as far as I know, I discovered it.  The #1 thing that exists with over 90% of ALL chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia patients that I have ever seen is a past history of using acid-stopping drugs.

Here is something T.V. Commercials also don’t tell you.

The acid-stopping medications like Prilosec, Prevacid, and Nexium (and whatever new version they are cooking up) stop your stomach cells from producing acid.  They also stop your body from absorbing Vitamin B12.

Vitamin B12:

Without it you can slow down healing, become anemic, mess up your nerves, and have problems with protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism.  And to top it off… Low levels of Vitamin B12 can increase heart and vessel disease.  Not a pretty picture!  No wonder they don’t want you to know about it.

.docaltman Burping

If you are burping during a meal with fat in it such as butter or it could be a salad with an oily dressing on it or even a big burger, then your gallbladder is often not working correctly.  Quick physiology…the bile from the gall bladder acts to break down fats.  So, if you can’t move enough bile because it is sluggish or even absent from surgery, then the fat can’t get used well.  Burp…Burp…Burp

The body is trying to tell you something.  You could grab the pink liquid and knock out those burps or you could try and get the body working better.

A-F Betafood…I know, it sounds like something you’d get at the pet store.  Standard Process names supplements by function, not necessarily to be cute.  This product is geared towards flushing out toxins and getting the bile from the gallbladder going.  It is made with the juice from young growing beet leaves.  It is rich in Betaine.   Standard Process also mixes Cataplex A and Cataplex F with it, hence the name.

Betaine is a widely known fat metabolism factor.  To keep it short and sweet this is excellent for supporting the gall bladder and liver by feeding them whole foods to thin the bile and get it moving.  The easiest sign you may need this is if you keep winning burping contests.

This is why A-F Betafood is one of Standard Processes fundamental products.

Breast cancer drop tied to less hormone therapy

Sharp decline in 2003 when older women stopped drugs, research shows

Wow, what a headline for MSNBC

SAN ANTONIO - In a startling turnaround, breast cancer rates in the United States dropped dramatically in 2003, and experts said they believe it is because many women stopped taking hormone pills.

The 7.2 percent decline came a year after a big federal study linked hormone replacement therapy used at menopause to a higher risk of breast cancer, heart disease and other problems. Within months, millions of women stopped taking estrogen and progestin pills.”

Incidence of breast cancer had been increasing in the 20 or so years prior to July 2002, and this increase was over and above the known role of screening mammography. HRT had been proposed as a possible factor, although the magnitude of any HRT effect was not known.”

Dr. Altman– Sometimes I am still surprised when the truth leaks out. Just think if all medical treatments were put under the scrutiny these HRT hormone pills were given, considering medications are between the #1 and #3 cause of death in this country, depending on whose numbers you use.

On the Heels of Breast Cancer

People have been hyping an observational study that says that women who ate more red meat had more breast cancer. Here is the part they missed and didn’t factor in. It’s not the meat.

It’s the hormones that are injected in the cows to make them big and fat. They give the cows estrogen hormones just like they gave women for hot flashes. You eat the cow, you get the hormones. Easy fix-Eat beef without hormones.

Antacids

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Long-term use of popular anti-heartburn drugs that block stomach acid production increases the risk of hip fractures in adults over 50, perhaps because the drugs inhibit calcium absorption, researchers said —Talk to Dr. Altman if you take these.

Doctors: Skip antibiotics for child ear infections

‘Watchful waiting’ OK for common illness to avoid drug resistance

My experience is that parents are often the driving motive behind not giving antibiotics. Parents are very, very concerned about the use of antibiotics,” said Dr. Richard Rosenfeld, director of pediatric otolaryngology at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn and a consultant who helped write national guidelines on antibiotic use for ear infections.

Dr. Altman– 70% of ear infection will go away on their own. The 3 things I have seen work well.

  1. chiropractic adjustments (opens the canals)

  2. natural ear drops

  3. ear candling

Antibiotic have been linked to childhood asthma and intestinal trouble, primarily yeast overgrowth. If you do need antibiotics for whatever reason, make sure you take good bacteria (probiotics) when you are done. Yogurt isn’t really strong enough.

Dr. Altman—Presume drugs are dangerous until proven safe. The FDA

presumes drugs are safe until they kill a bunch of people.
