If you understand this one concept, you will know more about vitamins than just about everyone you meet, and I mean everyone.
More doesn’t always mean better.
More banana peels does not make a fruit salad better. I’ll give you an incredible deal on 1000 banana peels. I’ll only charge you a penny for all 1000, but you have to eat them. Do you want them? Remember they’re cheap. This is the modern vitamin industry. They are convinced, more pieces are better than a single “whole” product.
Most people even nutritionists are clueless to this very fact. It took me 2 years of daily study to understand it so I don’t ever expect people to understand this in one sitting. Large amounts of vitamin pieces doesn’t make a multivitamin better. The naturally occurring amount of all the pieces left intact makes it great. That is Standard Process in a nut shell.
Readers Digest just did a big expose on why vitamins don’t work, and it is true. Almost every study confirms that they don’t work…BUT
This is a big BUT.
They always test synthetic, man-made vitamins. They don’t know enough to test whole-food vitamins. After more than 10 years using whole-food supplements with patients I can easily say they work and they work better than anything else.
I have actually seen a study using just 500mg of “vitamin C”, really just the ascorbic acid, and in just 18 months the walls of the patients blood vessels were thicker. When the walls are thicker and less elastic there is a tendency for higher blood pressure.
This is why I never buy vitamins from commercial retailers, no matter how cheap they are. It is never worth it to me.
