What Would It Be?
There would be no limit on price, but you would have to take care of all the expenses once it is in your driveway. Deal or No Deal?
Have You Picked Out Your Car?
How about a… Ferrari…Mercedes…BMW…Porsche…Toyota…Honda…Chevy…Ford…Dodge? There are a lot of choices.
What would you choose?
If I were to buy the car…you wouldn’t get to choose.
I,d get to choose.
Oh, yeah this would be the one and only car you’d get for the rest of your life. No exceptions. No begging for a Ferrari. No bribes. No way do you get any say in it. If you complain, you get a Yugo.
If you aren’t happy, too bad…you can walk to Florida for vacation.
This is your car forever! Your one and only. Do you take care of it, change the oil, wash it, do the maintenance, put the right gas in it? Or do you let it fall apart & become one step away from the junkyard?
I’ll bet you would take care of it. It is cheaper in the long run, right?
You probably figured it out by now, but I’m not giving you a car. The car that I’m talking about you already have. It is your body.
This does relate to health and chiropractic.
I’ve seen a lot of new patients this month in Glencoe and this topic has reoccurred fairly regularly. So patients in New Ulm are probably thinking the same things. The topic is a common misconception about Chiropractc (ks). Some people seem to be mad or frustrated that their adjustment doesn’t hold or last forever. They may even try multiple chiropractors.
The Adjustment Is The Adjustment
Nothing more and nothing less. How long it “lasts” completely depends on you, your age, your job, your lifestyle, your past injuries, your diet, your exercise. This is most evident when you are on vacation. NOTHING HURTS. I can go twice as long between adjustments and still feel awesome when I’m on vacation. And I hate to say it because I can tell this is true…An older car, yes you guessed it… needs a lot more maintenance that a shiny new one. Just like the car that you get for the rest of your life. Your body requires some maintenance.
Here is the ultimate message that is so often forgotten.
You can’t buy a new body like a new car.
You didn’t get to choose your body. This is your body forever. So be happy with it, and take care of it.
Some of the common traits of our spry
80+ year old patients.
1.) They have a wonderful outlook on life…very positive people. I love seeing them. They light up the office with smiles when they come in.
2.) They always ate their vegetables. I remember one of them telling me they couldn’t go out and play until all of her veggies were gone.
3.) They have always been very active; whether it was exercise or farm work.
4.) They grew up on REAL food; not processed food in stores today.
5.) Many, many of them remember taking cod liver oil when they were kids.
6.) They still know how to cook without cans and boxes.
7.) All of them but one, has used chiropractic care for more than 20 years. Most of our older patients who have been adjusted for more than 1 year look back at when they started, and realize they are 1 year older and feel better than they did last year. Now, conventional wisdom says that as you get older you should have more aches and pains.
